It's been a while since I posted although I have been admiring everyone else's treasures. I found this interesting 8" ovoid vase at GW today. Very neutral colors almost like ink on paper. Love the beautifully executed figure and the cherry blossoms on the other side. Does show some age with craquelure, but nothing on the bottom to ID a maker or country. -Mike-

This is really a great! I was going to ask if the incredible artwork is applique or painted, but I can now see it was painted.

i already noticed it , i never forget, well this is,not handshaped is is trowing, no indication that comustibles are used, and it is not porous

Oh no Apostata you mean I actually stumped you with this one. So it doesn't belong in a museum I take it. So much for retirement in the islands. That's OK it wasn't that expensive. :)

bij the way horse hair is an burning aplication and openfiring, probably the most significan,t indicater is the trunk of the tree , IMO it lacks shading, good shading gives a sense of relief and some refinement ., probably quite new ,but i just don,t know , but i am not so fond of this, but there is no accounting for taste
