I found this beautiful Asian "demilune" with a pink marble top at GW about a month ago. It's in very nice condition and for $5.99 I swept it up and made a bee line for the checkout ! Never quite sure about the wood on these though, Mahogany, Rosewood, Teak or some other exotic. The pink marble top is in great shape. Fairly modern, I would guess 20th century. I also have a suspicion it may have come from a local Chinese restaurant that closed, reopened and remodeled after the pandemic. It's now the focal point along with a few other pieces in my Asian collection. Sophie just decided she'd pose in the picture. Glowing eyes and all. :) -Mike-
Nice table! Sophie is a sweetie. I have a Sophie, too, but she is a tortie. I have the same representation of the Chinese god wood carving that you do which I bought in Thailand. I bought all three gods but two were damaged in shipping back to the States.
Wonderful demilune!! Beautifully displayed and Sophie just pulls it all together!!

I've had a few of the carved figures, The one on the bottom is a fisherman but he's lost his pole. My Shou Xing God of Longevity is damaged as well kwqd. The crane at his feet is missing part of one leg. :)

Thank you Apostata. Are you referring to the text in the art above the table ? That's a mixed media picture that I found out came from the Yoseido Gallery in Tokyo, They feature young aspiring artists and their work. I don't know this artist name. no visible signature.

no in the outer rim of the demilune is an text, i can,t discern this, i think you have to care if you buy chinese marble most of the time it is af atrocious quality ,
