I found this one today and can't wait to read it! The dustjacket design is a painting by Max Ernst. This is a first edition. I really like his books and haven't read this one yet.

Looks like a great read! When I first saw the cover, I thought it was a book on crystals, rocks & gems which also would have been interesting. I love older books about history and educational topics. They are a wealth of info and many differ from today's works.
