I think this Bakelite horse brooch is an amazing piece of history and jewelry. It's made of hard plastic developed by Leo Hendrick Baekeland in 1909, there was a wide variety of colors available. I call this one Ice Tea. It's carved and highly polished and has a glass eye which really makes it noticeable , and I love the book chain main its so nicely engraved.
