I inherited this watch from my Grandfather by way of my father. I have tried to research it on line but the inscribed name seems to be misspelled.
I am wondering about anything that anyone can tell about it and how much I should insure it for. I want to keep it but I am getting old and want to let my children know how much it is worth. Please email me at brsarch@comcast.net.
Thanks, bruce

Nice watch, while I cannot help you with the value of it, I can tell you it is a Waltham that appears to have been made by the Appleton Tracy & Company (ATCo).
A quick search yields ATCo bought the rights to make Waltham watches from Boston Watch Company out of bankruptcy.
Here's a website that'll answer a lot of your questions. Just type in the serial number found on the movement: http://www.nawcc-info.org/walthamdb/LookupSN.asp
Nice watch!
Oh, it was made in 1896...
