I have collected these over the years. My favorite is the small oval pin with the female figure. Unfortunately, I put the diamond shaped brooch (with the trees) in the wash (very sad) so the wings have browned. The circular pin with the evergreen I bought in less then perfect condition. Getting these wet always causes damage! They were frequently sold as souvenirs for tourists as in the large oval pin from Rio. Thanks for looking.

And beautiful as they are, they are partly responsible for the extinction or near extinction of several butterflies. Collecting specimens for butterfly collections also helped...
But buying these vintage ones won't make them any deader. It's the new ones we should avoid.
