I have one just like it, I've mentioned before I need to get it out and post it...
I bought mine from a Vietnam vet back in the late 80s. He told me he brought it back from Vietnam. I will tell the full story when I post mine...sometime today. (promise...lol)
The tiles he said are bone. My chess figures are wood, yours seem to be something else.
But the board is exactly like mine.
Great pick for $10.00!
Esther, can't wait to see yours .. mine are heavy pieces - jade maybe I wish) lol Thanks Officialfuel I think it was a great buy even if it is not worth alot I love it ....

I love your set.It looks very nice.My set is nice also and ky pcs are light the board is kind of heavy you can store the pcs in side the board it is lined with red velvet nice.
I have a very similar chess set. The board is the same but the pieces are big pieces of ivory. My uncle bought it for me in the late 70's or early 80's. I have been trying to get it appraised but no luck. The board is supposed to be oak and the tile is marble.
Does anyone know of a appraiser?
thank you
