This looks like an early WW2 era US Navy ships clock. I believe most of the 24 hour clocks are 8 inches across.

I like the 24 hour time going around what most think of as a 12 hour cycle. It can be confusing!

They uaually bring in the $300- $500 range depending on year of the clock and condition.

My price range is for a US Navy clock like the one posted.

They are desirable, but not particularly hard to find.

This type with the 24 hour clock is more desirable than the 12 hour that repeats like a typical clock (dual numbers).

Everything has come down in the last few years, but I don't ever recall these being in the range you are quoting.

      I just looked up ebay closing sales (I think it goes back about 15 days) and saw several: $190, $350, $525, $425, $500, $245, $425, $530, $480, $510, $500, $335, $522, $275, $255.

That is a fairly good indicator of current market value.

I don't understand what your saying.

Most of these sold at auction. With 15 total sales, I'd say the value is well established.

I don't recall tammyt39 ever asking what it was worth.....

My intent in posting realized prices was to correct (what I see as) bad information about value. Just as if someone had stated an incorrect ID on the clock-- I'd think the owner would want to know the facts!

I don't believe anyone else has "insulted a family item".

If valuation is important to tammy-- she now knows what they typically sell for in a World wide auction format (ebay).

I agree with Scott. BELLIN68, learn to spell.

Scott gave VERY accurate information, including the current average selling price for an exact Chelsea WWII Navy bulkhead 24-hour movement with phenolic case like that shown by tammyt39.

The market for antiques just isn't what it used to be. When valuing any item, apples need to be compared to like apples and condition plays a major role. She also didn't state if it works or has the key.
