I'm the benificiary for a horders house filled with hundreds of things that I'm not sure of...anyone have an idea about what this is ? A few people have said that its murano glass...i can see that it's blown glass and not cast...
Mid Century Murano Italy candy dish/ashtray. Made by the thousands for export and tourist trade. The blue color lends me to believe the early mid sixties. After the pink and aqua years of the fifties and early sixties, but before the avacado, harvest gold, orange times..lol.

I have always loved mid century and atomic stuff from the 60's...I have inherited a houseful (and i mean houseful, garage full) of stuff dating all the way back to WW1 and then on into the 70's ...i've been sorting thru a horder's house of stuff that I have inherited and i can't twirl a rat by the tail without hitting something... my house and garage are full like a bazar...depression glass...murano... civil war era bible... chrome and glass tables from the 70's...and model cars from the late 50's that have never been put together...it's daunting , but fun...
Ooooh. Take a few photos of the packed up rooms and garage so we can track your unveiling. I love atomic too plus just about anything else. I would be thrilled and panicked to inherit all of that. Hopefully it is all old stuff and not shopping bags full of junk.

It definitely is Murano and known as a Spider vase. The technique used is to case Blue and white glass which has been infused with copper filings which is a style known as AVVENTURINE, then stretch and mold it into its final shape. Date wise 1950s or so and maker could be any one of a dozen furnaces but a lovely piece

Looks like Murano Art Glass -- and made by Fratelli Toso ( I think) IMO....see what others say...
