This is a paper reminder of one of the best nights of my life. My friend won a radio contest on WBCN in Boston - a trip for two to san francisco to hear the dead on new years eve, all expenses paid (air, hotel, meals etc). Not having a girlfriend, he took me along. The Neville Bros. opened up for the dead. The dead went on at 11:45 with uncle johns band. They played until 3am - at which point we realized the BART closed at 1am so we had to hitchhike home to the holiday inn at fishermans wharf in an altered state. The concert was amazing... people dancing barefoot in the aisles, everyone happy. Its actually one of the few official video recordings made and the dvd sells on Amazon. I still put it on sometimes on New Years!
