This paperweight came from a distant relative's estate. I understand that it is a bit of propaganda from the Spanish-American war. In excellent condition for being over 100 years old. I'm interested in knowing its approximate value.
    Thank you.

"Remember the Maine" was the rallying cry of the Spanish American War.

I have seen many different objects and several paperweights, but I have never seen a paperweight like this one before. Thanks for sharing!

I collect SAW and I collect art glass but I wouldn't give it a second look if it were priced above $50. Of course some may differ but that gives you an idea what once collector would be willing to pay!

Thanks scottvez. That's the kind of information I was looking for, not having a clue
to its worth. Sorry if I stepped on any toes, ThriftyGypsy! I'm too old to have my feelings hurt over a paperweight! (I did find a very similar paperweight to mine in the Wolfson Collection at the Florida International Museum - made by what looks to be the same hand.) And yes, Scott, I am aware that "Remember the Maine" was the rallying cry for the Spanish-American War - which makes this weight a propaganda device. Some things never change.
