Wow! I absolutely love these Sarpaneva's Claritas!!! They're so unusual not having a polished base!! Here's mine that, as you can see, works as a vase: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/40270-claritas-timo-sarpaneva-iittala-1984?in=user
by the way, I guess they are signed, aren't they?
Interesting name too!
Are you a fan of Leerdam's Sybren (Iep) V.?
Staggering.
yes I like the work of sybren valkema i have 4 unica from him 3 made in Zweden and 1 made at his home in the netherlands 3 were made with the graal techniek i will post photos later
all 3 claritas pieces are signed 1984 c and a number the clear one is 27 cm I like the fact that its cute in the middle and the glass distorches when you walk around it
hi a question does anyone knows how the sig. for ittala work i finally want to buy a orkid from sarpeneva but you have so many different signatures and prices
sorry that my english is so bad havent written it in years
Now that's a great photo too!
My orkidea on CW is here:
http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/43902-orkidea--timo-sarpaneva-1926--2006?in=user
it is marked Timo Sarpaneva and the the design number 3568.
I thought 68 was the year.
There is another here at scandinavian_pieces:
http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/51861-timo-sarpaneva-for-iittala-finland-glass?in=user
I thought the last two numbers were the year. Am I worn?
Am I wrong, not worn?
sorry!
I wish I could help about the orkidea question, but that's a difficut one... There's a lot of different sizes of them and I think that's one of the important issues. If you're on facebook there's a group there called Finnish Design Glass Lovers and I'm pretty sure Tanja or Heidi (they're the real Finnish glass experts!) will be able to help you there.
