I usually only collect iridescent art glass but aventurine is sort of border line with its metallic glitter. Love red anyway.
This piece is the same shape as the Ausf. 136 example on LOETZ.COM.

Hi Loetzbuddies. Is this the piece that just sold on ebay?
If so do you know anything about the mark that was on it? I have never seen it on a loetz piece. Is it an export mark only used on loetz, like the oval, or was it used for multiple companies?
Thanks.
Has to be the same one (ebay); I looked at this piece too. Nice glitter.
ks85 & dasullywon : yes, eBay. The mark on the bottom is somewhat obscured but it is the post 1918 Loetz mark.
Nice catch Frank.
Thanks Mr. T
Thanks for the reply Loetzbuddies.
Do you happen to have a clear image of this type of mark? I was only aware of the oval and square marks and would love to see a complete image of this one.
Thanks Craig. I haven't seen any marked 1918+ loetz pieces w/o the square or oval mark. I thought maybe they had their own distribution set up back then. Good to know they have random export marks as well.
The best photo of the mark is on the second set of photos. I looked at it under a magnification glass and it looks like a "postal" round stamp mark. The only letters that are clear are CZECH.......
Thanks Obscurities ( Craig ? )
A lot of confusion here. The Mark has not been associated directly with Loetz and there still seems to be a great deal of disagreement that this is even a Loetz shape or decor. I think any conclusions here are premature.
i have to say that i have been interested in purchasing loetz , but reading a researching on loetz.com , im not so sure anymore , 1. too confusing to even tell what is what, to technical and overwhelming of the information provided. and i have to say to 1 picture of the signature was very blurry for me to even . this is just making me want to even purchase anymore . and the information is somewhat teeter tottering to me as well . but if you guys can do anything to change my mind let know and im really doing is asking for help:)
p.s. "I LOVE THE VASE":)
Obsurities : You said it 100% correctly. The mark on the bottom is most likely an export mark. No one ever suggested it was a Loetz signature.
And not only is the piece on LOETZ.COM it's also on the website of Jeff Weller who knows a thing or two about Loetz.
hello LoetzBuddies, help to understand this correctly , is all Loetz glass only made in austria ? and if is , why is everyone saying as well czech ? because Loetz is more of austrian name rather and a czech name , this where i get confused and when others say styledafter or attributed to those kind of key words confuse a new collector that wants to have this beautiful glass in thier collection?
is this real or not , im asking because ive what i have read on loetz.com
Yes, all Loetz glass was made Bohemia which was part of the Austrian Empire until 1918. After WWI the Empire was broken up and Bohemia became part of the new nation Czechoslovakia. So the older pieces before 1918 (if they are signed) say LOETZ AUSTRIA. But most pieces were not signed. It is believed that pieces were not signed after 1903. But after 1918 Loetz pieces that are signed
say CZECHO SLOVAKIA.
well thankyou very much LoetzBuddies for clearing this up for me :)
Hello LoetzBuddies , the only reason is im asking is because , i just dont want to put all of my hard earned money into something that is a fake, im a person who is wants the real thing .
BELLIN68 : I don't think we are allowed to comment on pieces that are for sale.
im not selling anything , i was using that link as an example. for comparing signatures.
LoetzBuddies just erase that link comment i just want to show you of what i saw in the two different signatures of what is real not of loetz glass , from what i saw and learned from loetz.com
having you help me understand the different of this type glass , i know what the rules are , i wasnt selling anything and i dont even own anything like this at all . i was having you help me make a discision if i ever were to start collecting this type of glass :) thats all no harm done :)
lines 1-3 are very interesting :) and thankyou for your help LoetzBuddies and have a nice day:)
I love this vase (wish i owned it) but it may not be loetz...Look at ricke page 348 for Ausfuhrung #136. you will see there is very little resemblance to the loetz.com ausfuhrung #136. if the base glass alone identifies it then maybe, but the shape and application technique is very different from ricke. also if anybody wants a decor study i have 10 pics or so of this decor in many (non-loetz) shapes. great vase tho...
email me if you want the pics...
