Bruyere Garanti Vinatge Pipe
It's one of my prized possesions, ha, I really don't know why!
Its Stem is made3 from some sort of Bone, or Horn.. I havn't been able to discorver which, or what kind. Base is made of Briar, and Sterling insert where Tobacco would go. It was used, smoked from, before I bought it, (for $5.00 at thrift shop) and I havn't cleaned the ashes/ old tobacco out of it.. It's stamped Made in Tchecoslovakia (my sister says that's the German spelling for Czechoslovakia,) also on it is Ruyere Arantie,( I'm not sure if the stamp missed the B and the G or if thats the spelling??). Thanks for looking!!!

What makes you think its bone? Think about bones, they're hollow, what animal would have a bone thats large enough to make that?... If you could post better photos, I might be able to tell you what it is. It doesn't look like bone or horn, could be ivory or maybe some kind of light amber
Stillwater, I will try and post better pics, but you're right==one is porous, and this isn't.... I've tried to do my research, and other's have mentioned Bone. Horn would be more likely. It has a vertical grain, and is shiney, though not over much. I will post tomorrow with clear pics, thank you!!
