Not sure the exact date of this photo, but I have my great-grandfather's 1907 yearbook from VPI, so I'd say this is within the 4 year span of that. VPI was all male and all cadet at that time. My great-grandfather is the man on the right.

Hokie, Hokie, Hokie Hi! Tech, Tech, VPI! Solarex, Solarah, Polytech Vir-gini-a! :)

Go... HOKIES! It's funny.. he lived to be 92 and he stood that straight and tall until he died.

Marvelous photo, nsvmom!!! So glad that you have this! Old Virginia has a grand military tradition. Before I encountered these posts of yours, I hadn't known that Virginia Tech also shared in this heritage....I am delighted to learn the cheer. Thank you for posting this poignant item, and for teaching us about 'VPI'. : )

Glad to share, Mikko! And I'm BACK! :) We got power back last night, thankfully! We fared well other than power outages. Glad to be back online!

Wonderful to see you back safe and sound! Virginia coastal regions took a hit, but
seem to have recovered remarkably well. Have friends in the area, and was fearing an electrical wipeout. Perhaps all the infrastructure upgrades and tree trimming measures that followed upon recent ice storms and the last hurricane have paid off.

P.s., I was thinking. If they played Georgetown, it could get confusing. Hoyas vs. Hokies!
