This is the glass piece that started my obsession with Murano...I was in a thrift store and saw this beautiful glass bowl - I didn’t even know what it was but I knew it was intriguing and heavy. I placed it in my cart on top of my purse, a female walked by and said “Ooh, that’s very nice, it looks like Murano”..I said “who is Murano?”….Then it began…

I had posted this piece on an Italian glass website asking for information and it has been referenced as possibly a Fratelli Toso, but without a label or marking, it is almost impossible to authenticate. This is in my personal collection. At one time I thought about selling it as I have collected a lot of pieces...Since it's my first Murano, it is not going any where....

    Hi , Ronda .
I see this model a lot of time here in Italy in every colour but +/- same shape .
it's 100 % from Murano manifacture but Toso brother have another quality .

    Hi Hornet,

Thank you for the validation that this is Murano :). Yes, it does look like a Fratelli Toso...Nice to hear from someone who is from Italy and has seen this type of console bowl before :)

I have a smaller piece in the same colors but mine is shaped more evenly in an elongated uniform shape rather than the way yours is, I think it's called the butterfly pattern but I'm not sure. I also love Murano style glass pieces, mostly Seguso & Sommerso, but it is what it is and we love it. Beautiful piece!!
