I found this little dog in a box of things from my attic and I think it says Japan and something else unsure of what. Can anyone tell me what kind of dog it is and maybe who made it.

I do think I can tell you when it was being sold. I have a dog that is a match or very very similar to this one. Mine was a gift in the 1950s and came I believe from the 5 and dime. He is a Terrier but exactly which type, I do not know.

Yes, a terrier or terrier mix. Perhaps an airedale or wire-coated fox terrier?

I have one my mom got it in a Antique store in AZ.

Looks like one of the Tetley Tea figurines. They made 100's of different ones and you got one in the box when you bought their tea. All of them are collectible and some more uncommon than others. You might want to check that as a source of origin.

I have one like this -- it is bigger than the Tetley Tea one -- it is about 3 inches long, and high ( about - as off the top of my brain) at the moment
