Grand Father Flew For Pan-Am. Photo 1. of Clipper. Pic.2. is of a Douglas DC-3, NC41HQ over the Sunny S.F. Bay with a history from 10-17-38. The C-41 was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft Company-Santa Monica Ca. It was the first military DC-3 ever produced. Similar plane my parents got married in, all timed to walk down the Isle and say "I do" at the moment they flew thousands of feet over the S.F. Golden Gate Bridge. The first plane is a lockeed constellation ,also called "super connie" in stretched form. I flew in one of those in the service in 1970. It had a turret in rear with windows that gave you a panoramic view of where you had been . The airline was TTA or Trans Texas Airline . Also called Tree Top Airlines by most everyone . Actually a great airplane that was a victim of the "jet age ". Jack

I always loved the "Constellations" they looked so sleek , almost as if moving even when standing still. We used to go out to the Airport and sit at the end of the runway watching the planes take off and land, things were slower then. I remember when I lived in Fort Myers the local 'Skeeter Control" planes were DC-3's, they came over in formation of usually three planes.........first time brother visited he thought we were being invaded !!!! LOL
