I recently bought this record for $10, but I see on the internet much higher prices for this record. How can I determine that this is an original record? Or could it also be a 2nd press or something?
    Hope someone can inform me.

    Here are the details:

    Details of the record:
    RCA Victor
    G8-MW-8705
    TV Guide presents Elvis Presley

    Band1: "Pelvis" Nichname
    Band2: Adult's Reaction
    Band3: First Public Appearance
    Band4: How Rockin Motion started

The back of this 45rpm single is completely black (no grooves)

The man who I bought it from, told me that it had been in the plastic sleeve for at least 20 years.

    Thank you!

Its the real deal! Cataloge number checks out! It came out in 1956 Tv Guide and I seen one sell at auction for 1200.00 years ago. The Est. Value of this today is around 2,000.00-2500.00. GOOD BUY!! Dave

Sorry to rain on your parade. But you have the reissue there...... the matrix # on the dead wax is hand written. The original is machine stamped.

Hello..Allow me for a moment to elaborate on this particular disc.
There were 2 issues of this by RCA with TV Guide, 1956 and again in 1980.
It is considered a promotional record.
Some promos are blank with no recording, such as this one.
The 4 tracks on this are non music, interview style only.
The grooves on this in between each track is a special locking groove. You have to manually put the needle on the next track.
This disc is actually available and out there.
The machine stamping is more than likely a early pressing, then standard copies made, however, it is not a master, that is the actual reel tape used in studio.
Even after 8 years from this posting, it can still be found for around 10 bucks.
      The machine stamping..possibly 20 bucks.
Now if your a collector, think on this, if you get just 10 promo type, rare, early pressings, etc., 45 discs, depending on what you got, then just those ten could be $200??

How does $5,200 grab you..Ebay right now.
Must have the original 4 page insert with it showing details about Elvis that came with this disc.

      Thomas.
