1845 - Fire Hand Fountain Pump

This is an 1845 hand fountain pump fire engine and was known as Fountain No. 1 for the South Hadley Falls, Massachusetts volunteer fire department district 1. - It was made by the H. Waterman Company of Hudson, NY. - Fountain Engine Company Number 1 was formed immediately after the purchase of this engine. It has South Hadley Falls printed on the top tube portion of the engine and is pictured in front of a building with the signage "Engine & Hose Co. No. 1" and also "F.E. White Hook & Ladder Co. No. 1".
