Hi. These dishes are pottery or china I think. They belonged to my elderly mother.
I have searched everywhere but cannot find out what their purpose was? The goose dish is just about the right size to hold a single goose egg, but then again, could be a container for anything?
The rabbit is my favourite. He has a piece of parchment on the underside which covers 2 holes that were perhaps needed for firing or could it be to let the contents breathe?
So, I dont know if they are butter dishes or something else.
If anybody has seen anything similar I would love to know?

    Thanks

    Elaine

The goose may just be a trinket dish, the rabbit possibly paté?

Thanks. I had not thought of pate. I have scoured e-bay to find something similar to get an idea but no luck yet. x
