Old Hand Carved Walking Stick,Head Of A Man Snake Around Stick

I've never had a walking stick like this one,not sure if it's African,but has the head of a man with a snake carved around it,I got this about 8 years ago from a friend who got it out of an old attic of an empty house he was cleaning out.
