This is a ceramic steamer. It's used to steam veggies. To use it, find a pot that your steamer can 'sit on'... like a double boiler set-up. Fill the lower pot with water and boil. Arrange the veggies around the sides of the 'chimney' and place it on top the pot with boiling water. Voila! I saw lots of these in Europe during Hubby's second tour in the late '70s/early '80s. Wish I would have bought one. Yours is very pretty!
