Hello all. This snuff bottle is from an estate sale from Florida. It is hand painted but it seems to have been painted on the inside. To me this was unusual. It measures approximately 2 3/4" tall.I don't know if they characters on the bottle is from the artist or what. Has anyone seen anything like this?

I have a modern Chinese snuff bottle that is painted inside. When I bought it at Vinnies a lovely Chinese lady (not the seller) told me that "inside painting" is a very old art in China and requires years of training to master. Apparently they use single filament brushes and snuff bottles are their common "canvas". They normally have scenes from nature or village life and each artist would sign their work. So the characters may include a signature.
I paid $12 for mine and she said that it was much cheaper than you can buy them in China.
Yours being older would have significant value I would imagine, and it is extremely beautiful.
      Well done!
