These 1834 J. Russell 12 knives are silver coated, the ferrels are silver, and the handles are of solid mother of pearl. Besides their look of elegance. These cutlery are a joy to use, razor sharp and well balanced. I have seen that these demand collectible market prices, which makes these worth every dollar being asked. But luckily for me, these came to me during one of my thrift shop outings for $3.00. I dig them! =^D
