This is one of the sweetest glass wax seal intaglios from my collection. The engraving depicts a winged cherub, or cupid, plucking a heart from thorny branches.
The French sentiment above, "Nul Plaisir sans Peine" translates to "Pleasure without penalty" or "Pleasure without pain."
The second photo is the intaglio impression in play-doh.
Love this one...is that a tail?...:-)

I think that's some sort of satchel. Probably where he collects the hearts. The satchel straps look as though they go around his torso.
