What I love about some of the glass of the 1910-1930 period is its anticipation of later design (or that it provided the inspiration for later designers - probably a combination, as I have found there is a lot of borrowing across the centuries). So I love the submerged appearance of this base which seems to prefigure sommerso techniques used in Italy, Czech and Scandinavia.
Other examples that spring to mind are Rindskopf honeycomb and Borske Sklo olives, fused rocket feet and rocket feet in pressed glass eg. Skrdlovice.
Maybe we should start showing them together?
This is just over 20.5cm high.
I am going to put it down as late Art Nouveau.
