    any ideas on this old ring? I think it is WWI era New York, I bought it at a civil war item auction a few years ago, they even had some old cannons, I didn't think it was legal to own one, so I didn't buy one

      WW1 era or later based on the style of ring.

      Muzzle loading cannon are legal & pre(1889?) breech loading. Won't swear to the date for breech loading since I don't live on Uncle Sambo's Plantation but believe that is correct.
