Hi! I was going through my shed and came across this old lamp I have. I put it in storage because I couldn't find out what kind of material the green part was. I decided to give it another shot and found out it's milk glass that's as far as I got. The only markings on it is a number at the bottom
247 17 5 and a patent number near the top 275424. Is anyone familiar with this lamp? All answers will be much appreciated. Thank you
Hi! It's an old Oil Lamp base/font probably made in England in 1896 (going by Registration number) that looks like it has been electrified at some time. It would have had an oil burner probably made by J. Hinks & Sons Company. They sometimes marked their trade name DUPLEX on the Burners and brass collars of their lamps. The burner assembly would have contained a gallery that would have held a chimney and also a decorated/frosted or clear glass shade. The shade would not necessarily be a match to that quite special lime green milk glass font on yours. If the font has not been drilled through the bottom, you may be able to reconstruct this beautiful and (expensive at the time) banquet lamp. Very nice item, BOB

Thank you very much for helping me out. I checked the font it hasn't been touched and I already looked some parts up from around the same era so I can restore the lamp.
