Today, I found this old 3-prong fork that appears to be handmade. I think the prongs are pewter. There are no maker marks. I have the feeling the handle might be bone or ivory because of the striations. Any guesses?

Hello!.. I think you will find the handle is bone not Ivory you can tell by the tiny dark blood vessels running through it as bone when in the body is alive. Ivory is basically dead material.....if you can see the side of it with Ivory you will have cross over lines which which is called hatching...and ivory is smooth and spotless....hope this helps!...:-)

Very well may be pewter but the handle appears to be bone. You can find them online with no problem if you are researching them. There are three of them on Ruby Lane right now priced at $19 for the three of them. They are certainly old but also common.
