    This is a circa 1930's pocket magnifying glass - it is in a brown leather pouch and swivels out on a brass rivet - the magnifier is 1 7/8" in diameter with a tortoiseshell frame. - The leather is embossed on on side with the German company "Mahle Bad Cannstatt" and the following products;
    --
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - EC Kolben = (Elektronmetall Cannstatt) Piston
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - EC Filter / Benzin-Luft-Oel = EC Filter / Gasoline-Air-Oil

    ** Mahle GmbH is an automotive parts manufacturer now based in Stuttgart, Germany.
    As a manufacturer of components and systems for the combustion engine and its periphery, the company is one of the three largest systems suppliers worldwide for piston systems, cylinder components, valve train systems, air management systems, and liquid management systems. - The company was founded around 1920 and in 1924 the company was renamed Elektrometall GmbH. - In 1927, the company developed the first controlled-expansion piston in Germany and in 1931, the world’s first aluminum ring carrier piston for Diesel engines. In 1938 the conversion into Mahle KG took place and the new company logo was introduced.
