I've had this for a while. Way before I seriously started my costume jewelry phase. It was draped around a vase I had sitting on the floor. I thought I'd take a look at it for a mark and it was marked Copyright "Coro" on both ends of the clasp. That's good news and bad news. It's flaking the pearlized coating like crazy. Over half the pearls are plain beads by now. They show up darker in the picture. It's a shame to have such a nice piece in a sad state, but what can you do ? A lot of costume loses it's enamel too. I picked a flower piece up once and one of the flower petals flaked off on the counter at the store...ooops... a..no thank you. These weren't made to last forever however this is still a nice piece. -Mike-
Mike..this is my cheap and quick fix - pearl nail enamel.
Of course I wouldn't do it to "great" pieces but a good enamel can re-lustre those pearls well!
I know it's hard to see old things flake away....I'm not talking about you, maybe me. I have some great old bakelite I'm very upset has darkened 2 or 3 shades since I bought them. They aren't out in the sun. It's just a comment on aging.
very beautiful!!! :)
