    What is this item & date if anyone knows? It's beautiful ! Silver and red glass. Beautiful piece but not knowing what it is is the worst.????

      Check the fit on the jar in the holder (appears to be too loose in your images) and the lid on the jar to determine if it is an original pair or a marriage.

      It was together but is broken apart. Thank you so much.

      I didn't explain well enough-- the fit will tell you if the jar is original to the silverplate holder.
