Continued flea market finds - I actually got two vases from this series - from different vendors! The vases are from a series of vessels that include a barber bottle shape that used to be attributed as early Loetz - but now that I've seen the vases, I'm convinced that all three are not Loetz. I'm leaning towards the Silesian firm of Josephinenhütte. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.
This first one is ball shaped in cobalt blue, with a heavy crackle iridescence (see last photo). It is marked in gold on the bottom - 2739. The barber bottle I had was marked 2748, and the piece in the next article is numbered 2779. I estimate this vase dates to the 1890s.
