Bought this bulldog at an estate sale. It's one of my nicer finds . And it is definitely a keeper. I have always had a fondness for bullies. I would Like to get a olde English bulldog one day if the circumstances are right

      I think it reads Ardalt.
Campione would be the factory in Italy. I have not found out a lot about Campione. I believe it is a town near Como in Lombardia in northern-western Italy. "Ceramiche Artistiche Campione" was a factory run by Felice de Baggis in the period after WWII. From 1952 to 1960 the artistic director there was Oreste Quattrini - a sculptor.

Walter Pellegrino says of ARDALT ....
"Ardalt was a New York City Importer who began operation in 1945 and stopped importing in the 1980's. Most of Ardalt's imports were from Japan but did, from time to time, import items from Italy, France and Germany."

Strangely enough there is another Campione piece her on CW - a poodle.
