i am really bad at reading these signatures! i can't make heads nor tails out of it. but the craftsmanship on this hand-thrown piece is impeccable! does anyone recognize the signature? I'd love to find out who made it.

thank you Riply206! it does kind of look like 'earth' - sort of. i just googled 'earth pottery' and there were a gazillion hits - many here in the bay area. i may never know who did this one!
