    Ivory, very old, feels soft, warm and worn.
    Hand carved
    Almost translucent but too thick
    Some kind of signature
    Weight is roughly 15 pounds
    Height is 12"
    Width is 5"
    left behind by member who passed away.

    Please, any help is appreciated.

      Sorry to say than if it feels warm (apply it on your cheek!) it is not ivory (or bone) as ivory is insulator.
      The weight seems too heavy too...
      Look closely to find Shregger lines (Google for recognize ivory!).
      Ultimate test is to apply a red hot pin point in a hidden part.
      The base is telling resin...

      It's just been confirmed Ivory, very old Ivory by a pottery store owner.

      Ok people. It is definitely Ivory. No doubts. Not faux, resin, or anything else just pure hand carved ivory. It is shiny because it is clean and my phone has a bright flash.
