This is a piece of Chinese wall art purchased in Shanghai circa late 1980's.
It is made of a combination of carved mother-of-pearl and possibly shells and depicts a traditional Chinese Pagoda on a waterway scene detailed with the Pagoda on an island surrounded by trees and plants, small boats, rocks, bridges, people, and birds all finely carved. - Signed by artist at top left.
It is mounted in a 19 1/2" by 11 1/2" shadow box type wooden frame with a glass front and brass hanger. Picture two is no flash by sunlight, picture one is with flash taken at a slant.
