Vintage Ranger Bicycle

A friend gave me this bike for my 50's basement, but he didn't have any
information about it. I haven't been able to find out who the mfg. is or the year it was made. It has the name Ranger printed on the columns and the tank and the headlights look like an old Murry (one still works), but the only other markings are on the rear sprocket that says EXCEL Mark IV, which could be a part mfg. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
