I have no idea what this is. It is about 6"tall, and the base is about 2 1/2" square. It is obviously oriental...it appears or feels like the top is solid and the base is hollow. When you shake it you can hear what sounds as if the base is full of small pieces of wood. It has nothing to open. It weighs 1lb 14oz. The lady I received it from said there were a pair but had since lost the other one. Any ideas? and Thanks for looking..
Could very easily be for seals, such as wax seals.
