    Spike on left digs into material, keep tool from sliding backward, push handle forward so front spike grabs, then as you pull the handle back, it pushes the serrated teeth across material forward. Simple hinge design, moves quite fluidly. Are we correct in thinking it's for tanning/cleaning pelts?
