    My grandfather gave me this Seth Thomas Mantle Clock 30 years ago. I have kept it inside and not used it at all. I plugged it in today to be sure it still works and it does. It has an awesome chime. It still has the tag on the cord from the original maker, and the tag is in perfect shape on the inside of the back door. The little tool is there to that adjusts the chime. I cannot figure out what year it was mad though.

      It looks like you have a model Seth Thomas called their "Colton 2E" from sometime around 1940. It also came in a wind-up mechanical version called the "Colton 2W". Nice example. Thanks for sharing. Hope that solves your mystery. If so, please indicate mystery solved in your listing. If not, what else would you like to know?
