    Hubby bought this at flea market years ago..I am not sure of its age but it looks interesting...1920's maybe?

      I remember something very similar, being used, when growing up. Left a lot of crumbs on the counter as I remember.

      Edward A. Rutenber, Aug.1876 - Sept. 1962.
      In 1892 he invented a single cylinder motor.
      In 1898 he established the Rutenber Manufacturing Co. and designed & manufactured the first 4-cylinder gasoline engine in America.
      In 1902 the company was moved and renamed the Rutenber Motor Co.
      1n 1912 he disposed his holdings in the engine manufacturing company and started the Rutenber Electric Co.
      He invented the Marion Flip Flop Toaster in patented in1914 followed by the Marion Giant Flip Flop Toaster.
      In 1916 the company was relocated from Logansport, Indiana to Marion, Indiana.
