I managed to obtained some rough Gem stones, I've put them on a Black back bound and a White back ground, to show the difference in their colours. There are white moonstones, clear moonstones, Peridot, Red Garnet, Citrine, Topaz and Shappire.
    Many thanks for looking.

Do they mine them in Sri Lanka, or just finish them?
    2. Peasejean55 Peasejean55, 9 years ago
These Stones were all mined in the mine I visited. Sri Lanka has plenty of Gem Stones. :-)

Yes Virginia, it was a great experience seeing how the stones were made. The mine was primitive but it worked.

The stones certainly show up more on the Black back ground.
