Google for kokeshi wood lamp!
Yes...it's looks like a kokeshi doll lamp...Soulportal would be good to contact regarding this I think??? Cheers
Hi Jayborneo, congratulations on your find. It is a, lovely modern Kokeshi style lamp. About age, it could be anytime after 1921 when all exports from Japan were required to be stamped "Made in Japan". I have a few of these lamps, I've only been close to dating two by their electrical sockets which sometimes have patent information one in the 1930s the other in the 1960's. Assuming the cord had not been replaced at any point. - Soul
Oh my! That looks like a lamp I had as a kid! I always thought my dad brought it back from the Korean war. He had several trinkets, and I think that was one of them. Sadly, the paint was chipped and it was in horrible shape, so I think it got tossed when we down-sized a couple of years ago.
