Old Semiautomatic lighter

I know next to nothing about this lighter other than it is a semiautomatic lighter which means its date would be from the 1920s and up. It belonged to a friend of the family, I've inherited quite a lot of items from him through my grandmother, He has a lot of items that I know is from the mid 30s and early 50s, This lighter be be from around that time as well if not earlier.

There's no markings on it at all, so I don't know who made it, if you know anything about it I'd love to hear it.
