This is another item I purloined from my grandmother. It's a little over 6" tall and 9 1/4" wide. It has four vases and one bowl carved in it, with flowers, vines and two birds carved. The vases and bowl also have flower designs etched on their fronts. There are a million soapstone carvings out there, but I've never seen one this big, with 5 vessels incorporated in it. Can anyone add anything about origin, style, value?
My grandmother probably acquired this in the 1920's.
