I found these bark scrolls amongst my grandmothers things and they are at least 70 years old. The language appears middle eastern? I would really appreciate any information about their origins.

Yes I wondered about prayer rolls. I found them inside the Chinese wicker basket (see other items) and thought they might be part of a wedding present to my grandparents? It remains a mystery until I can translate them...
So, it confirm Asian, but certainly not Chinese writing :-)
You may search for writings I suggested an look for similarities.

For what I could find:
This is a palm leaf manuscript from Sri Lanka, known as an ola.
These texts are written on the prepared leaves of the Talipot palm.
They often contain religious texts such as the Bhagavad Gita or medical guidelines for doctors, written in fine Sinhalese characters.
