This is my rummage market find from today. Hand thrown ( I can feel the ribbles inside of the vase) and painted. Signed on the bottom, but I'll be jiggered if I can figure out just what it says. The design is the same on both sides. I am thinking this is either a German or a Belgian piece. I really like it.

    The circumference is 11 1/2".
    Height: 4 3/4"
    Width at the top: 4 1/2"x 3 3/4"

    Perfect condition.

Ceramics are not my strong suit, so.....

      Italian is a possibility.

      I agree with Vetraio.
The clay, finish, colour...and the numbering system led me there.

vetraio50 & racer4four - thanks for the input. OK, now tell me what you know....!! The Italian numbering system for ceramics is something I know nothing about.

What a lovely vase, Bonnie. I think Alan knows something about the numbering system, he mentions it on some of his Italian vases. Maybe he can share? :)

Indrozdenko & kat - thanks! I hope Alan can enlighten me on those numbers.
