I was just wondering if anyone could help me id this monkey doll~I have named~ Fred.
I and my "family tree" are from the south: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida Panhandle...etc. They were: Multi~Plantation owners, Farm owners, Mill, Plant, and Gin owners, town starters, and so on! I am the last of the family on both of my parents side(s) and inherited all of the "family items"/ "estate items" that thru the years have been saved/stored/kept/passed down/etc ... dating from the 1500's to present. I have rented 3 (three) very large storage "POD's" and I am trying to go thru the boxes and downsize it insuring it all is getting expensive!!
I am only telling this part to explain why... now and in the future you will probably see my pictures with ??? question marks or the wrong names on them....because I HAVE NO IDEA what 95% ...well...okay....98% of the items are!!!!
I love this web site and I am truly impressed with ALL the knowledge of the members ... YES.... you if you are reading this!!! =)
So...I do not know the exact background of this monkey doll~~Fred...I just know it is an item from our family estate. Oh and Fred's lack of id is driving me crazy!!!!!!
Fred is all cloth and felt except for his face. His face is not rubber or plastic...but, when I gently tap the face it sounds thin. He is stuffed with something. His clothes are sewn/tacked on to him and I can see no markings anywhere!
Any help would and will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!
